Mixed Media Sculpture

Memory

How do you create a physical form for something so intangible as a memory? The different characteristics of memorization influences and determines their creation.

  • Baby Teeth illustrates a palpable memory that jumps out and makes itself remembered quite physically.
  • Bunny, my childhood stuffy, is a isolated memory, where only the tiniest strand of significance remains.
  • The Cardboard Bothy represents an assimilated memory, which is created through absorption of family history and cultural ancestry.
  • A false memory is fabricated entirely from imagination such as The Memory Machine.
