About

As an inquisitive child, Christine dismantled toys, watches and other items to discover how they worked. This mechanically curious aptitude eventually lead to employment as a drafting technician, where she built scale models and drew process layouts. These technical challenges rekindled an artistic interest and heralded her current profession as Graphic Communications Associate. “It is gratifying to successfully convey a complex idea with a simple diagram or a self-contained conceptual image. This can apply to both documents or sculptures.” Christine also applied her fine arts education as the Gallery Administrator at Arnica Artist-Run Centre.

Christine completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in 2013. She has earned a Visual Arts Studio Certificate (2010), a Computer Aided Drafting and Design Diploma (1993), and was also a Sessional Instructor and Lab Demonstrator for the drafting program at the University College of the Cariboo.

She held a solo exhibition entitled Whim Whams at the Kamloops Art Gallery and participated in group exhibitions at Arnica Artist-Run Centre, TRU Gallery, Art In The Park, George Sawchuk Gallery in Comox and the 5th Parallel Gallery in Regina. The TRU Permanent Art Collection, Fiscal Realities Economists, and private collections in BC hold Christine’s work.

Christine chooses to reside in Kamloops to stay close to her family who provides both support and influence while parenting supplies practical experience. Incidentally, she still takes apart (mostly) non-working items and saves the interesting bits for future projects. It’s a big box.
